Tarragona is a vibrant coastal city, famous for many ancient ruins, such as the Roman colony of Tarraco (UNESCO World Heritage Site), the Roman Amphitheatre is a 2nd-century arena, the Paleochristian cemetery contains Roman tombs and vestiges of the Forum remain in the alleyways of the old medieval walled city. The Archaeological Promenade is a path along the walls with panoramic views of the city.

Races were held ; its underground vaults are spectacular.

Santa Tecla Cathedral:

A jewel that blends Romanesque and Gothic styles

Balcony of the Mediterranean:

A viewpoint at the end of the Rambla Nova where tradition dictates "touching the iron of the railing" to have good luck.

Ferreres Aqueduct (Devil's Bridge):

Located on the outskirts, it is an impressive example of Roman engineering to bring water to the city.

 

Tarragona is also famous for the Human Towers (Castells) Championship*  which only takes place every 2 years!
