Let us take you to the wonderful city of Valencia, during the Fallas Festival to see the spectacular La Ofrenda: floral offering to the Virgin.

 

If there is one event that stands out above all others during this fiesta, it is the floral offering to the Virgen de los Desamparados (Our Lady of the Forsaken); all the falla groups dress in traditional costume. From all parts of the city the groups converge on the Plaza de la Virgen, carrying bunches of flowers of carnations, gladioli, cyclamens and lilies to be placed at the feet of the figure of the Virgin and the ladies' costumes are of course, just stunning.

  

The Plaza de la Virgen is transformed into a flower garden during the offering. The façade of the basilica becomes a floral tapestry that covers the entire wall. In the centre of the plaza, a 14m high wooden structure is set up, on which agile climbers insert the flower offerings, creating a giant effigy of Our Lady

 

A wonderful firework display finishes off this fabulous day at around midnight and then after this we will board the coach to return home.

 

An event which will be truly memorable and one not to be missed !!!
