On this new trip we are taking you to the stunning Valle de Ricote, we will go the town of Abarán to discover the different Waterwheels that have been pumping water to the different canals in the orchards of the Segura River. The most important one the Great Waterwheel (Noria), which is the biggest still working in Europe.

 

After that we will move to the beautiful little village of Ojós (Julie used to live here!)to walk through its charming streets and see the little hanging bridge over the Segura River. You will also have a little bit of free time in case anyone wants to buy the most typical dessert in the village: The Drunk Biscuits....!

 

Abarán and Ojós are towns with a rich history dating back to the Muslim era, both are know for their agricultural prosperity due to the fertile lands and the River Segura running through both. This is a beautifully scenic area and is a hidden gem.

 

After the tours we will return to the coach and take you to Murcia city for the afternoon of free time to enjoy the shops, bars and some lunch.

Walking is Involved in this tour. It is not difficult but ideally suited for those able to walk with no problems.
