The spectacular event of

THE BATTLE

recreates the events of the 2nd Punic War that took place more than 2,000 years ago for the conquest of the city by the Roman Legions of Scipio in 209 BC.

​

We will arrive around 2pm with the landing to take place at 5pm when the Roman ships enter the port of Cartagena simulating a naval attack.

 

After this the battle will take place (approx 6pm) between the Romans and Carthaginians near the city walls with horses, swords, torches and sound effects recreating the Roman siege of the city.

 

Once the battle is completed, there is a ceremony outside the Cartagena Town Hall...
