Nestled in the mythical Cabeco dÓr peak, the Canelobre Caves geological complex is a hidden treasure deep within Buscot, Alicante. Located at an altitude of 700m, this cave system was formed in the Upper Jurassic limestone, more than 145 million years ago!!

 

The caves are accessible through a 45m tunnel where  you will see the spectacular stalactites, stalagmites, columns & jellyfish like formations. Here you will find some of the tallest vaults in Spain, of 70m. There are remarkable formations...

Such as “La Sagrada Familia” a column that reaches 25m in height and the

“El Canelobre”, a stalagmite over 100,000 years old.

 

After exploring the caves we will return to the coach and transfer you to Alicante for free time to have lunch and a wander on the beach front, before returning home.

 

A truly superb day out experience.

 

PLEASE NOTE:

THERE ARE A LOT OF STAIRS FOR INTERNAL ACCESS TO THE CAVES, SO IT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR THOSE WITH WALKING ISSUES. ENCLOSED COMFORTABLE SHOES SHOULD BE WORN, NO SANDALS OR FLIP FLOPS.
