This Christmas we are taking you to Frankfurt, Germany to experience the wonder of the traditional Christmas Markets. From our central hotel with superb links into the city and the markets, you have time to explore each of the main markets in the area as well as some of the other parts of this amazing city that literally lights up at Christmas

The Frankfurt Christmas Market is one of Germany's oldest and largest, dating back to 1393, featuring over 200 festive stalls, a massive tree in Römerberg, and it generally operates from late November to just before Christmas.

​

It offers traditional Glühwein, gingerbread, and artisanal gifts across the city centre, including a unique rooftop market, the City Beach Market and is free to enter. 

 

Location: The main market is located in the historic Römerberg area, stretching to Paulsplatz and down to the Main River.

 

Opening Hours: Generally open Monday–Saturday 10am–9 m, Sunday 11am–9pm.

 

Special Attractions: Includes a traditional carousel, a ferris wheel with city views, and the Rosa Weihnacht (Pink Christmas) LGBTQ+ market in Friedrich-Stoltze-Platz.

 

Food & Drink: A must-visit for Gluhwein (mulled wine), Kartoffelpuffer (potato pancakes), sausages, and chestnuts.

 

Atmosphere: The market is known for its romantic, traditional atmosphere set against historical, half-timbered houses.

Location: The main market is located in the historic Römerberg area, stretching to Paulsplatz and the Main River.
